Serving families across Toronto and the GTA with live online dyslexia tutoring.

If you're looking for a dyslexia tutor in Toronto, you don't have to limit yourself to whoever's nearby. I work 1:1 with Toronto-area students online, in real time - the same structured, multisensory instruction you'd get in person, delivered over Zoom in afternoon sessions that fit the school day.

What I do

I'm Natalie, a Victoria-based tutor specializing in dyslexia intervention using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I was trained by the Orton Gillingham Academy, and I work exclusively 1:1 - every session is built around your child's specific reading profile, not a canned program.

Orton-Gillingham is a structured literacy approach: explicit, systematic phonics taught through seeing, hearing, and doing at the same time. It's widely considered the gold standard for dyslexia intervention because it goes back and fills the exact gaps - sound by sound, pattern by pattern - instead of asking a struggling reader to just try harder.

How online tutoring works for Toronto families

Sessions run weekday afternoons Eastern time, which lines up with my morning teaching block on the West Coast. Your child logs into Zoom from home - no driving across the GTA, no waiting rooms.

Families I've worked with have children in Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, and across the GTA - location doesn't matter as long as there's an internet connection.

Who this is for

Getting started

  1. Reach out - tell me about your child and what's going on with reading.
  2. Assessment - a one-time intake where I review your child's reading and map out a program plan.
  3. Weekly sessions (billed monthly) - scheduled at a consistent afternoon time that works for your family.

Why families choose online dyslexia tutoring

The honest truth: great dyslexia specialists are hard to find in any one neighbourhood. Going online means your child gets a tutor chosen for expertise, not proximity - and you get the sessions without the commute. Many of my Toronto students started after their parents realized local options were either full, generalist, or a 40-minute drive away.
